Questions You Can Ask Program Officers

It's always a good idea to talk to someone at the foundation before you apply for a grant.

Why? Program officers and foundation staff can provide clarity, help you strengthen your proposal, and sometimes offer tips on when or how - or even if - you should apply.

And, while no grant applicant likes to hear a foundation say "No" or "We're not interested," if that's the message, it's always better to hear it before you spend time applying for a grant.
